CarolinaPower President Chris Moore has been elected 2021 Vice Chair of the Board of Directors for Associated Builders and Contractors of the Carolinas (ABC Carolinas), a leading construction industry association representing more than 300 member firms in North and South Carolina. Four of the 16 board members, including Moore, are based in South Carolina with the remainder located in North Carolina.
An ABC Carolinas board member for the past four years and ABC Apprenticeship Trustee for the past two years, Moore is a strong advocate for workforce development. He works closely with industry associations and public schools to promote construction trades as a viable career option through state-registered Electrical Apprenticeship programs. In addition to his role of Chairman for the South Carolina Upstate Electrical Contractors Apprenticeship program, Moore serves on industry advisory boards at Greenville Technical College, Clemson University, and The Citadel.
“On behalf of the ABC Carolinas staff, I want to welcome the new 2021 board members as well as those who are returning for another term. Because our members are so heavily involved in the ongoing economic prosperity of both Carolinas, it’s important to have a Board that reflects our membership well in terms of type of business and geographic location,” said Amy Sullivan Hicks, ABC Carolinas President and CEO. “With guidance from the Board, we will continue to implement our strategic plan – working hand-in-hand with our members to help them to grow their businesses, develop their workforce, and contribute to their local communities in a positive fashion.”
