“Signing Day” Celebration: CarolinaPower Welcomes Three New Apprentices
On Wednesday, June 19, CarolinaPower’s Columbia office welcomed three new employees with an athletic style “signing ceremony,” complete with company-branded jerseys. Caden Dillon, Aiden Kelley and Isaiah Hoskins – all three 2024 graduates of Lexington Technology Center’s electrical program – are entering CarolinaPower’s four-year “earn-while-you-learn” apprenticeship program.

Based in the firm’s Columbia office, Michie will lead company-wide marketing efforts, including brand management, marketing communications, social media, and special events. Michie has nearly 15 years of business and marketing management experience in the Midlands region of South Carolina.
CarolinaPower’s Travis Oswald Promoted to Vice President
CarolinaPower has promoted Greenville Branch Manager Travis Oswald to Vice President. Oswald will now oversee companywide Construction Services – Engineering, Virtual Design and Construction (VDC), and Prefabrication – while still managing day-to-day operations of the Greenville office. Oswald has been with CarolinaPower for 19 years.
CarolinaPower Electrician Recognized by Client for Safety on the Jobsite
CarolinaPower electrician John Gartman Jr. was singled out by The Whiting-Turner Contracting Company for “exhibiting exceptional support of safety processes and hazard-reduction efforts on the jobsite” for a project underway in Columbia for the S.C. Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC). Whiting-Turner's superintendent commended John for ensuring signs were on barricades, spotting equipment, and keeping the jobsite clean. Way to go, John, for upholding our company values and the highest safety standards!
CarolinaPower Project Manager Helps High School Students Learn Real-World Construction Skills
As part of an ongoing partnership with Charleston Metro Chamber, ABC Carolinas once again held its Build a SHED competition — an ABC Carolinas “Students Hands-On Experience Day” program intended to promote interest in construction-related careers through experiential learning. The one-day Lowcountry competition was held in March at the Exchange Park in Ladson, S.C.
